Sunday of the Word of God

The Pope has declared that the third Sunday in Ordinary Time should be celebrated as the Sunday of the Word of God.  The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales has designated 2020 as ‘The God Who Speaks’: a Year of the Word when we will all be encouraged to celebrate, live and share God’s word throughout this exciting new Scripture initiative.  2020 has been chosen as it is the 10th anniversary of Verbum Domini – Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Exhortation on ‘The Word of the Lord’ and the 1,600th anniversary of St Jerome’s death.  Find out more about available resources and events that have been planned throughout the year at: https://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/pages/category/the-god-who-speaks
